After You EnrollOnce Enrollment Materials are completed a participant may enter the Women’s Thealogical Institute (WTI) any time during the year by attending an Advising weekend. What’s next You’ve sent away for your enrollment packet or checked out the web site. You’ve read the information and competed all the enrollment materials. Now what? What you can expect at a WTI Weekend Women may come from across town or across the country to learn together, each with the desire to deepen her understanding of herself, the Goddess and what it means to be involved in a group of spiritual women. They come to take part in opportunities for learning and sharing information that may change your perception of yourself, your spiritual life, you community, and your world. Every woman has something to share and something to learn. Share yourself, listen to what other women are doing in their spiritual lives and you may be inspired. Be involved. Each of us has gifts to share, some of which we know and others waiting to be discovered. Assist in organizing a weekend, share knowledge through a presentation, talk about what excites you. Your journey begins when you complete the enrollment forms and attend your first WTI Advising Weekend or Intensive. Weekend Organizing The agenda and activities which happen at an Advising Weekend may be organized completely by your Convening Advisor and/or they may be organized by one or more participants working with your Convening Advisor Settings and Facilities WTI Advising weekends are held in a variety of locations. You might find yourself in a retreat center, a classroom or a WTI sister’s home. Each group decides for itself when and where it chooses to meet. Each group also decides how it will deal with food and housing. Be sure to check with you Convening Advisor or your Contact Person to see how your group does it. Topics which can be covered Topics which can be covered at an Advising Weekend are those which comprise the core curriculum of WTI Programs: Goddesses, Psychic Skills, Magic, Administration/Organization/Leadership, Feminism, Environment, and Counseling/Support/Therapy. One of these topics will be covered at each Advising Weekend. Timeline A basic timeline for each weekend follows:
Approximately 11 hours of training is included at each Advising Weekend. Any deviation from the above should be cleared with your group’s Convening Advisor. Training The times above labeled training are specially dedicated to educational activities. Educational activities include primarily lecture, discussion, small group interaction, rituals, or other pursuits agreed upon with your Convening Advisor. Evaluation of Training Activities Evaluation of a specific training activity immediately after its presentation is suitable. Confining these evaluations to no more than 10 minutes assists with the flow of the weekend. Preference is for written evaluations developed by the presenter which she can take home to review. Restricted Activities during training times Activities specifically restricted during instruction times are processing about interpersonal or group interaction, critiquing of performance, or discussion of expectations/disappointments. Processing of feelings, experiences, opinion, emotions or other sentiments is encouraged. This may be done in your path group, at any meal, or during the advising period. Announcements of issues, concerns, caucuses, or interest groups which would like to meet during these time can be made during the announcement time each day.
