Daña Alder has been a dyke activist since 1974 and a Dianic witch since maybe 1977. Both comings out occurred in Louisville, Kentucky, and in 1984, she moved to Madison, Wisconsin, after realizing one day that maybe she could survive the winters here. She has come to believe that cold weather is a small price to pay for living in a larger progressive community. While racism, sexism, heterosexism and other -isms are alive and well in Madison, there are many like-minded folks who work on these and other social justice issues. Daña's day job is at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and she is also a freelance mediator who works with couples, parents and children, and others who want to resolve conflict in their lives.

Anna Styers-Barnett is the Publisher & Artist Representative for Winged Willow Press, owned by Sudie Rakusin. She is also a poet. The pieces in this issue are part of a book-in-progress that will accompany a deck of divination cards featuring Sudie’s saints.
