MONEY: My Own Natural Energy YieldThe Metaphysics of Financial Prosperityby Bellezza SquillaceThe word “metaphysics” is the study of the ultimate structure of a thing; the study of its reality as opposed to its appearance. $$$$$ - Appearance - $$$$$ MONEY is a topic in wimmin’s community that is rarely taught or discussed openly and honestly. Negativity surrounds this topic like an impenetrable, thick cloud no matter how positively the concepts are presented. If you are like most of us, you will not even want to read this article. Talking or thinking about money produces a pain in the belly chakra! Most of us live from paycheck to paycheck. Many of us get our mail, find the bills in it and leave the envelopes unopened for as long as possible. We see our debt as the flow of money going out of our bank account. We see income as the flow of money entering our bank account. We know that very often the money coming in does not match what goes out. This frustrates us, shames us, fills us with dread and forces us into silence whenever this topic comes up. Even the most brilliant of us find any sort of financial discussion or training almost impossible to understand, much less to apply to our lives to change our financial situation. Like our unopened bills, any honest discussions are avoided and the situation remains the same. Wimmin have fixed reputations for not earning as much money as their male counterparts; for not spending money freely; for not investing or saving money; and for not supporting their communities where they receive their spiritual nourishment. According to the US General Accounting Office Report to Congress, on the average, wimmin are less educated, have more breaks in their work history, hold lower paying positions then men, and choose flexible jobs that adapt to the needs of their families and often do not provide health insurance or retirement funds. Maybe this contributes to our sense of helplessness surrounding money issues. Truth & Metaphysical Laws Examining my own life, I recognize my natural rebellious responses toward various laws as a way of testing my own limits & abilities, and for finding my sense of place. I didn’t write the laws, didn’t vote on them and so it becomes more difficult for me to honor them if I am not invested in them as a truth. Eventually, with a more evolved mentality, I stopped rebelling and experienced transformation and spiritual growth. I still question out-dated or insignificant rules and replace them with something more relevant like an affirmation that transforms my attitudes and beliefs. Myths form laws too. Myths are the stuff the elders in a culture or a religion tell the youth to teach them how to walk in the world. They appeal to a different side of the brain and settle in as a voice of wisdom with an unknown source. Countless sayings or idioms about MONEY are very influential in how we think about it and how we allow MONEY as an energy to work. Although I didn’t write them either, their familiarity creates more a foundational core belief system that gets internalized. Clichés present the modern mythology of MONEY, the stories passed to us by elders, mainstream churches, our government and in all forms of the media. We believe them without questioning their source or validity.
One discovers the underpinnings of class and gender bias in cultural mythologies. From the common phrases in our culture, we are expected to work hard, save what we earn, not really like or love what it could provide, not borrow it, spend it on anything fun and realize that it was evil to have or not have. Our educational system seems bent on creating workers for the culture who neither escape oppression nor achieve self-actualization. And any current discussion about money indicates that there are only two classes of people: Those who are rich or those who are in poverty. Goddess, it really is confusing, this money thing. Our cultural mythology signals us to hold onto what we have, not to spend or give it away. We stop the flow of our natural energy yield. How we get from this metaphysical “appearance to reality” is the journey of our faith in the divine as well as our faith in ourselves as having the divine within. $$$$$ - Reality - $$$$$ According to the metaphysical Law of “As above, so below; As within, so without,” our outer world of form and experience is a reflection of our inner world of thoughts and feelings. When we are only guided by cultural money clichés, we experience scarcity thinking & expect negative results.
Another metaphysical Law states, “The greater your awareness of the Presence of Goddess within you, the more that Presence fills your consciousness.” Faith builds. Its not the kind of faith that looks for someone to save you, but the kind of faith that helps us understand that we are Daughters of the Great Abundant Mother and are all worthy of our share in Her magnificent opulence. This metaphysical Law says we have a resource for prosperity consciousness. “The deeper your understanding of Spirit as the Source, Substance and Activity of Supply, the more permanently that Truth will be etched in your consciousness,”
Yet another Law says, “It is your spiritual consciousness, your Knowledge of Goddess within you as a total and complete fulfillment that interprets itself as every form or experience in your world.” It evokes change. You know. You believe. You act.
Here are some things to do:
