Max Dashu founded the Suppressed Histories Archives in 1970. Since then, she has built a collection of over 14,000 slides and 100 shows on global women's history, female spheres of power, mother-right, patriarchy, empire, shamanic arts, and Goddess traditions. See www.suppressedhistories.net for articles and excerpts from The Secret History of the Witches, a forthcoming sourcebook on European folk religion and the witch hunts. Max's paintings re-envision bold and spirited women, pagan sacraments and goddesses around the world. Her latest offering is Our Reproductive Rights! a multi-issue poster in rich colors. See it at www.maxdashu.net , along with magnets of the healing sayings illustrated above.

Patricia Monaghan is at work on a complete revision of her classic "Book of Goddesses and Heroines," to be published in 2009 by Praeger/Greenwood. The lesser-known goddesses featured here are from that work. Read her poetry at www.patriciamonaghanpoetry.com
