Child of the Universe: In Celebration of Spring

By Deborah Hoffman-Wade

I am a child of the universe, a beautiful creation of the Mother. I am playful in my need to be who I am. I continue to learn the delightfulness of being a form in process of becoming. I have learned that for me ordination has become a living example of the fool’s journey. I am a being in process, a never ending progression of growth.

I am a child of the universe, a bright star in a galaxy of stars. I am the child of the crow who brings me the dazzle of life. She brings me the glitter and sweetness of a jeweled existence. She brings me the twinkle of a new idea, the sparkle of new friendships and the splendor of new lovers and encourages me to fly with a flash.

I am a child of the universe playing with my toys. The stones are my sisters, they sing to me of the stability of my life. The stones who ground me to the earth and bring abundance in my life teach me about my foundations. I am grounded in my primary relationship, in my career and in my family. She brings me the instruments to live my life with authenticity and to be resilient in my energy.

I am a child of the universe, a star among many. I shine brightly for all to see, reaching my arms to encompass all time and space. I shine for myself bringing hope to my own eyes and I shine for others to give them light to see their own path. I shine for my family bringing warmth and tenderness to all close to my heart.

I am a child of the universe, a student of the joy. I am all that is a natural and a part of an amazing world. With childlike grace and anticipation I need to be delighted by discovery. I need to dance through the galaxies and open my heart to sing the music of the heavens. I need to be challenged to stretch my mind and extend my knowledge.

I am a child of the universe, in service to the ecstasy of life within me. I tango with the patterns of beauty of the universe. I open my heart and sing the mystery of enjoyment and pleasure of life. I dance with the comets and use the rings of Saturn as a hula hoop. I thrill at the possibility of joys to be experienced.

I am a child of the universe; I am awake to the wonder of mystery. I look to the sun, moon and to the stars to bring me the answers to my curiosity. With the trust of a child I wait for the answers to my questions and accept that some of them may not be answerable.

I am a child of the universe. I am the mother. I am the beauty. I am the wonder. I am the crow. I am the stone. I am the star. I am the joy. I am ecstasy. I am the heart. I am the breath. I am the mystery.

May you be birthed into a new world this spring. May it be filled with the sunny faces of daffodils and the playful tinkling of lily of valley bells. May your child reach for the moon and stars and be rewarded with a galaxy of pleasure.
